One of the most valuable parts of this experience has been learning how to communicate technical decisions clearly. I often use diagrams, hand sketches, and simple graphic presentations to explain design ideas and code requirements to clients. This has helped me make technical discussions easier to understand and build more confidence and trust during the design process.
This experience taught me to think about design beyond the drawing itself. Working with site conditions, zoning requirements, consultants, and permit documentation helped me understand how early design decisions affect the technical development of a project. Creating different design options and a physical model also strengthened my ability to communicate ideas visually

Working directly with construction materials and site conditions gave me a practical understanding that I now bring into architectural design. I learned to read drawings with a stronger awareness of assemblies, quantities, installation requirements, and constructability, rather than looking at a drawing only from a design perspective.
Working on a range of architectural projects taught me how to balance design intent with real client needs and construction requirements. Client meetings, site visits, technical drawings, and municipal submissions helped me develop a more complete understanding of how an architectural idea evolves from concept to something that can actually be built.
